Author's note: Set immediately after the World Without Young Justice storyline.

Miss December was nothing short of a work of art. Kon wasn't quite sure how she didn't freeze, lying on a snow bank with nothing on but a red bikini and a Santa hat, but he was willing to chalk it up to an undiscovered superpower.

He held the magazine out far and tilted his head for better perspective. Maybe hanging her on the wall would count as decorating for the holidays.

Doomsday would probably like it, too, since girls were one of the only things he and his brother agreed about.

Kon lifted his head to show him the magazine. And saw the Young Justice resort's recreation room.

Damn.

It'd been three days since they'd returned from being not-themselves and Kon's brain was still playing reality catch-up. It'd be strange to forget that he wasn't Conal, brother of Doomsday, then freaky to think he was anyone but Superboy. He'd caught himself several times, making mental notes to tell Doomsday something, or remembering a joke to tell him.

He wondered if the rest of Young Justice were experiencing the same weirdness. Kon'd decided to take the day off from his new Metropolis digs and see what was up at headquarters. Maybe seeing the others would make him stop remembering things that never happened. And make him stop feeling guilty for missing a supervillain who never was his brother.

Clearly, the plan needed work.

At least one thing had been cleared up through all the confusion. Rob's name was Tim. Tim Drake, and he was a real boy who wears jeans and band tee-shirts. Without green sunglasses covering half his face.

"Drake," Kon tried it out loud. "Tim Drake."

His voice echoed in the large room and he suddenly felt silly. Of course, Robin could probably carry off the Bond thing. Somehow, knowing he was a regular kid under the tights and mask didn't actually take away too much of the mystique behind the boy wonder.

Miss December fluttered suddenly and Kon had to put his hand over her to stop her from flying off his lap.

"Hi Kon! Have you seen a notebook?" A red and white blur crossed his frame of vision, and came back. "Here it is! Don't tell Max I left it here 'cause I'm not allowed to leave school during the day. Hey, what are you doing here? Is there an emergency? Why didn't you call me? Wait, where are the others, then?"

So that was where everyone was. Sometimes Kon forgot that the others went to school. "No emergency, Bart. Just looking for someone to hang with."

"Are you here alone?" Bart disappeared then appeared in front of Kon again. "You are! Man, it must be more boring than class."

"Dude, you have no idea." He wasn't enough of a loser to ask Bart to skip school and hang out in an empty hotel with him. "Want to play a round of Mega Monsters Five before heading back?" Well, maybe he was. "I want to think about playing with someone other than Doomsday." Also, shameless.

"Sure! No! Wait! You remember that? Usually only speedsters do! I have to go turn this in and take a test because Max and Carol said I'm not allowed to miss more school this week, but you know, hang in there."

Before Kon could say anything, Bart left, leaving a rush of air. The room felt silently oppressive in a way it hadn't before.

Kon looked at the lady on his lap. Miss December was hotter than Impulse, but right now, he'd give just about anything for company. Anything to make him stop missing a stupid bad guy who never existed. Maybe Wendy could distract him until someone else showed up.

He heard a high pitched whir: the Supercycle taking off. Kon ran outside, only in time to see it flying off, too fast for him to follow.

"Hi Kon!" Whoa. One of Bart's scouts appeared beside him. "I couldn't find Robin, but Tim's in school right now, and says he can get here in ten minutes if it's an emergency and I told him it was so don't be surprised if the Supercycle takes off." The scout ran off before he could do anything. Unlike Bart, the scout left no vacuum. The scouts weirded Kon out because they weren't really Bart but they were, somehow.

"Cissie's taking a bath! She said she's off already because of winter break but please get out of the bathroom, Bart, and come back in an hour!"

Cissie was taking a bath? Kon was still confused, but it was a nice mental image.

"Cassie's going to skip her last classes because she's going to punch the next person who asks why she's not eating anymore and then she'll get in trouble with her teachers!"

"Wait. Bart. What? What are you doing?"

"Max told me that everyone else gets confused when things happen to the timestream so you have to be understanding and nice to them. But I forgot that everyone else remembered the other time this time, and I should have been more helpful." Kon was pretty sure he could hear an explanation buried somewhere in there, but the scout was gone again already.

Um, okay. Kon wasn't not about to turn down company, even if it was sympathy company.

The Supercycle appeared over the trees, and Robin was in it, only it was Robin in what Kon assumed were Tim Drake clothes and a mask, so he just waved instead of maybe shouting the wrong name.

But when the other boy climbed out of the driver's seat, it was Robin's voice that asked, "What's the emergency? Bart just said to get here as soon as possible." He frowned around the mask. "After finding me in the hall between classes and pulling me into a janitor's closet, that is."

Kon felt his lips twitch.

"What?" Robin was a little irritated, and tired looking.

Kon wanted to tell him it's his dorky clothes, but he said, "No emergency. Bart's just –worried?"

An eyebrow went up, and Robin's hand reached to take off the mask.

"Bart?" His eyes had circles under them.

"Yeah. It's weirding me out, too." He decided not to mention that he thinks that Bart felt sorry for him.

Cassie's voice called from inside. "Guys? Hello?"

He and Rob-maybe-Tim duck inside, and Cassie was already sitting on a pool table, swinging her legs. "Bart asked me to head over here, so I ducked out of classes. This week was already long enough without school."

Kon saw a little nod from the boy at his side, and realized that the others had had their own issues with coming back to reality. But Kon'd always known that he was an emotional bulldozer, so there really was no reason to stop now. "You guys miss it?"

Cassie's eyes widened, and her mouth opened. "Oh, man. You two remember?"

Rob closed his eyes a minute.

Kon wondered what his world had been like. "Dude. I was brothers with freaking Doomsday. You don't forget that."

Cassie nodded, and said, "Well, you don't forget being an enormous redheaded Wonder Girl, either."

Robin just tilted his head, and smiled a tight little smile. "I just got a week's dinners out of my mom and dad." There was a story there, but even Kon knew better than to ask personal questions from a Bat.

Cassie knew better, too, because she suggested ordering pizza. This also proved that she knew how to read people better than Kon, because Robin's shoulders relaxed and he challenged her to a rock-paper-scissors contest over what toppings to order.

"Hi! Tim! Cassie! Kon!" Bart, really Bart this time, appeared with Cissie in his arms. Cissie's arms filled with cookies and cheap silver tinsel. Kon was in love, but he wasn't sure with whom. Or what.

"Anita said that she had to spend time with her dad, but she'll see us soon, and I can't find Suzee, but everyone look what Cissie has!"

Cissie tried to hand Robin the plate of cookies, but he shook his head. "Come on, Robin, take one! I promise they're not like the crabcakes!"

Kon decided that in the case of cookies, at least, he could be the better man and grabbed some. They were still hot. "Thanks, Cissie!" He had to speak around cookie

After a moment's hesitation and watching Kon, Rob took one, too, but he nibbled, still clearly wary.

Tinsel appeared in the girls' hair and soon Cassie and Cissie were trying and failing to catch Bart, their cries echoing around the room. Robin and Kon stood off to the side and ate cookies.

"You know, there's a Wendy marathon on tonight," Kon offered. "We could just chill. Unless, you know, you're needed in Gotham."

Robin shook his head. "I'm off duty tonight, so that. That sounds good." Kon hadn't known that Bats got off-duty nights, but didn't ask. Anytime he could convert a new person to Wendy was not to be questioned, even if he thought Robin would ever answer questions about Bat-schedules.

Kon picked up another handful of cookies, and wondered what he'd have to do to get Cissie to bring them more often.

Cissie ran past and shouted, "Another plate of cookies for whoever helps us catch him!"

Kon looked at Rob. Rob looked back at Kon. Rob's eyes narrowed, and Kon grinned.

"Here! Bart! I'll take Cassie and Rob can take Cissie and you run!" Bart ran between them and stopped, grinning, and they grabbed his arms.

"Hey! Guys!"

"Sorry, Bart." Kon wasn't not sorry, and Bart knew it, and wiggled. "Bart, man, don't make me bring the tactile telekinesis."

Rob nodded solemnly, somehow managing to hold on to the squirming speedster without superpowers. "Cookies, Bart. Take your punishment like a hero, and we'll share."

Later, Wendy kicks ass on the screen and Kon and Rob sit on the sofa with their feet entangled and Cissie and Cassie and Bart are on the ground. They're all full of pizza and Bart is covered in cookie crumbs. Wendy wears a short skirt and Rob doesn't complain about the fake fighting once Cissie elbows his thigh lazily the first time he tries. Kon decides to take this as a victory. Cassie braids silver tinsel into Bart's hair, and he vibrates gently at the fight scenes. Cissie leans back against the couch and rests her head on Kon's knee.

Rob nudges his foot at Kon's knee and raises an eyebrow at him. Kon grins, shrugs his shoulders, and settles back into the couch. His family is complete just the way it is, and all told, life is pretty sweet.
